Children, Inc. Service Learning Initiative is proud to partner with kindergarten-secondary schools in the Greater Cincinnati Region. From Kelly Elementary in Boone County to St. Clement School in St. Bernard, community engagement has remained a priority to teachers, administration, and students over the past decade. To recognize these champions of service learning, Children, Inc. hosts an end-of-year celebration. On May 2nd teachers relaxed with a grill-out, live music by Nicholas Tuttle, and conversation. Reminiscing over classroom experiences, teachers of all grade levels shared in best practices.
CEO of Children, Inc. Rick Hulefeld was in attendance, giving thanks and encouragement to the changemakers in the room. He shared in his beliefs about the social climate of our country, stating that service learning is now needed more than ever before.
Teachers then mingled over decadent desserts (generously donated from Bean Haus Bakery & Café) as they anxiously waited for raffle tickets to be pulled. Cincinnati Zoo Tickets, Free Hotel Rooms, and a Mint Julep Kit were just a few of the prizes up for grabs. One-by-one names were called and cheers echoed throughout the space.
